EPDM is made of ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) by polymerization of ethylene and propylene monomer with a small amount of non conjugated diene. The characteristic of its structure is that there is no unsaturated double bond in the main chain of polymer molecule, but unsaturated double bond is introduced in the branch chain. Therefore, it has excellent weather resistance, heat resistance, ozone resistance, UV resistance, good processing performance and low compression set. It is the preferred material for producing sealing strip. At present, EPDM is used as the main raw material for automobile sealing strip.
According to the different parts and functions of the sealing strip, vulcanization, protection, reinforcement, operation system materials and special materials (such as colorant and foaming agent) were added into EPDM materials to form dense rubber (including black glue and color glue) and sponge rubber. |
